Sometime after Felix' paintings were added to his site, we heard from an old friend of his in London, who had known Felix at the time of his painting some of
these paintings, and who was kind enough to share her memories of Felix and the whereabouts of the scenes. Thank you, Susan Osborn!
Says Susan, "Felix' painting of the cellist I am sure is Jacqueline du Pre as it catches her movements and look and I recognise the blue dress, as I used to see her playing
on TV and in concert. In Felix' painting, the pianist with her looks very like her then husband Daniel Barenboim, who I used to see playing with her and who kind of lifted his
hands like that. I am sure it is him."

"I thought that you might like a photo or two of where Felix used to live when he was learning with Jacqueline du Pre - the mews as depicted in the painting.
So yesterday Neil, my husband, and I went to Belisize Park village to try and find the exact mews as there are quite a few. I have taken a photo of the little
street and shops which is just outside and along a few steps from the mews where he lived.
We saw three or four mews and although I thought I recognised the one, I was not sure and we looked at about three others. So today Neil printed out the
painting from Felix' website and we took it along. It was then easy to see which one it is and then I remembered more clearly which his little flat was and his
windows and the room where he taught me the cello and where we ate food and talked. The mews is called McCrone Mews. He had offered to teach me cello
when one of our neighbours in the street where my family lived (about 5 miles away) had introduced us as he had met Felix in Cornwall on a course at
Prussia Cove. On the photos you can see the pattern of the paving and cobbles on the ground that he painted so beautifully."
